Position: Civil / Structural Engineer
Location: Brampton, Ontario
Job Term: Permanent

Qualifications Required: We require an intermediate civil / structural engineer for design of lifting equipment and associated structures as well as overseeing activities of our field inspection staff. This is an excellent career opportunity for a motivated individual interested in making a mark on a dynamic, growing company. Progression to a management role is expected provided the individual demonstrates the necessary work ethic and leadership qualities.

The position will require a mix of office and field work as necessary to gather information for design or to provide technical support to technicians for their inspections. You will be responsible for your own design, and for reviewing other engineering work. This is a high-paced office with constantly changing requirements. As such we need a dynamic, flexible individual able to handle numerous projects at a time.

This position will include extensive contact with personnel from the shop floor or the board room for a broad base of clientele from the construction, manufacturing, engineering, and other sectors. As such, EXCEPTIONAL written and oral English capability is a pre-requisite.

Require experience doing calculations for statics and mechanics of materials, welded design, bolting, etc. Must be capable of using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. A professional engineering license in Ontario is preferred but we will accept someone able to obtain this license within a short timeframe. Experience with quality assurance of steel fabrication or with nondestructive testing is an asset. Other complementary experience includes design and / or inspection of heavy equipment, storage tanks, pressure vessels, or steel buildings, as well as rigging and welding engineering.
