ENGINEERED CRITICAL LIFTS
Complications during a major lift can be very expensive. Crane costs, work crew wages, and downtime can easily add up to thousands of dollars even if the delay lasts only a couple of hours. A hoisting accident can cost millions and may result in serious injuries or even death.
Whether it's an extremely heavy load, a tandem lift, an installation into a "hot" area, or just a tight squeeze, sometimes you or your client will want the security of knowing that every detail has been planned.
We can help by:
- Providing plan, elevation, rigging, and matting drawings, as required.
- Selecting appropriate cranes based on capacities, accessibility, and availability
- Sizing up rigging, taking into account the center of gravity
- Designing and supplying custom lifting equipment
- Specifying the crane location(s) and the initial position of the load
- Checking boom, load, rigging, and swing clearances during the erection and lifting phases
- Ensuring that the outrigger/crawler loads do not exceed the soil capacity
- Inspecting and certifying the crane and the rigging equipment
- Detailing the lift sequence, especially for tandem lifts
- Providing safety precautions related to wind, communications or other site specific hazards
- Visiting the lift site prior to the lift to ensure that the cranes and rigging have been set up according to the lift plan
